He is the historical memory of the Rai singing festival, stage director for 41 editions of the Festival: the Sicilian Pippo Balistreri will receive a special award in Sorrento
Sanremo, October 16th, 2024 – “He has the absolute record of attendance at the Sanremo Festival. He is the man who has made the festival stage work for 41 editions and who has seen the history of music pass by from behind the scenes“. With these words Amadeus, during the 2024 Sanremo Festival, introduced Pippo Balistreri before delivering the Città di Sanremo award on stage, together with Rosario Fiorello.
Now for the stage director originally from Bagheria (from Aspra, to be precise) comes another national recognition, as part of the 29th Premio Penisola Sorrentina (penisola Sorentina Award), the audiovisual festival promoted by the Municipality of Sorrento and directed by Mario Esposito.
The special Casa Sanremo Off award will be presented by Vincenzo Russolillo, creator and patron of the Italian Song Festival lounge.
The award ceremony will take place at the Teatro Tasso in Sorrento, on October 26th, during an event that celebrates Italian cinema, audiovisual and television 70 years after the birth of Rai television broadcasts.
