Because of the massive and pleasant request about Pignasecca Tour (tuorno tuorno) we have planned an extraordinary date which is Saturday May 21st. 2022, at 11AM
The historic local market of Pignasecca is known only for its products, gastronomy and the frenetic liveliness of its inhabitants. Often it is crossed too quickly so that people don’t get its thousand secrets “hidden” at every corner of the street.
We will tell over 500 years of history about this fantastic place. Starting from Piazza Montesanto will arrive at Piazza Carità. We will talk about Scarlatti, about Della Porta’s telescope, about the lazar and Jacobins of 1798-99. And also about the Madonna of Pompeii (which “was born “in Pignasecca), Filumena Marturano, the historic buildings and many other stories that we do not reveal here …
The tour lasts about 90 minutes and will leave participants pleasantly surprised at how much wealth our beloved city reserves.
