Between Sorrento and Ragusa: the competition calls for the project supported by Strategia Fotografia del Mic, which involves Sicily and Campania, will be made official in April
Napoli, March 25th, 2025 – The organization of the artistic residences for young photographers of “Promenade Méditerranéenne” has begun, a special project conceived by Mario Esposito on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the Premio Penisola Sorrentina. The cultural project is included in the national plan Strategia Fototografia promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture.
The organizational machine has already been at work since the beginning of the year and the regulations for applying to live an evocative artistic residence in Sorrento and Ragusa are expected next month.
The initiative will see among its cultural partners the Department of Political Sciences of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” directed by Francesco D’Ippolito, which is responsible for the Master in Sustainable Tourism and Communication of Beauty.
The events to promote photography will see young people as protagonists in particular and will offer the public a kaleidoscope of changing points of view on two symbolic cities of the Mediterranean, such as Ragusa and Sorrento.
“The artistic residences are organized by the Premio Penisola Sorrentina with the aim of contributing substantially, through photography, to deepening the knowledge and consolidating the discovery and memory of the resources of the territory“, declares Peppe Leone from Sannio, scientific curator and artistic director of the project.
