Tropea (VV) July 24th, 2024
This morning, in the Albino room of the Tropis Hotel, the press conference was held during which the names of the students who won the scholarship in memory of Antonio Mamone – Costruisco il Mio Futuro (I build my future), this year organized by the La Sterlizia association, were announced.
In its sixth edition, the Scholarship, for a total value of 15 thousand euros, is aimed at final year students of the Istituto Superiore di Tropea which includes four study paths: Classical and Scientific High School, Technical Tourism and Hotel Management.
The press conference, moderated by the journalist Vittoria Saccà, was attended by Nicolantonio Cutuli, director of the Istituto Superiore di Tropea; Simona Muzzillo, Sales Consultant – Randstad Italia S.P.A.; the RAI journalist Pasqualino Pandullo; Danila Lento, Production Manager of the Lento Cellars of Lamezia Terme; Vanessa Cariati, artist and teacher; Maria Grazia Teramo, president of LaboArt; Domenica Mamone, president of the association La Sterlizia and organizer of the scholarship.
Also the journalist Giornale Radio RAI Francesco Repice participated in the conference.
There is always a lot of work behind this initiative, an intense work for the organizers and for the students who participate and of which we only see the conclusion.
During the school year, Domenica Mamone and Simona Muzzillo, sales consultant of Randstad Italia, met the students in the schools to get to know them better, to look them in the eyes, to learn about their dreams and aspirations, their talent and ambitions, to learn about their expectations.
Randstad Italia is an agency that deals with the selection and training of human resources and has been a partner of the scholarship for four years. It presents a test that influences the final outcome by 35%. A practical and constructive test, as it consists of a real job interview which, regardless of the result, is an important experience for students.
Before announcing the winning students, the director Nicolantonio Cutuli shared the memory of his first meeting with Antonio Mamone, underlining the generosity of the entrepreneur from Tropea and dwelling on the value of this important initiative that supports students in their training and cultural growth.
RAI journalist Paqualino Pandullo will also present the evening this year together with Giornale Radio RAI Francesco Repice, and as a member of the Jury that decreed the winner of the evening course for the hotel management institute, he spoke about his experience in this regard. This edition of Costruisco il Mio Futuro dedicates a prize to an evening student of the Technical Tourism and Hotel Management institute. Among the members of the jury of the test also the renowned Chef Enzo Barbieri.
Francesco Repice’s speech, present for the third consecutive year at the event, was very engaging, for the message he conveyed to all students and for the energetic way he did it. He emphasized that success is never achieved without effort and, above all, study and knowledge make the individual free. He also invited young Calabrians to be proud of belonging to such a wonderful land as Calabria, rich in history and resources that must be appreciated and exploited in the right way.
The creator of the works: il Dono and Alberobosco, the artist Vanessa Cariati, gave life to the symbols of the Scholarship. She told of the magic that made this artistic birth happen. End after briefly illustrating the technique used in the creation of the works and their meaning, she invited the students to resist the challenges of life and never give up!
Maria Grazia Teramo of LaboArt, who together with Francesco Carchidi is in charge of the direction and artistic direction of the event, explained how this collaboration with La Sterlizia has led, within the scope of the award linked to the memory of artist Manuela Pugliese, to the birth of the two new Scholarships “Costruisco il Mio Presente” (I build my present), titled like this because theatre is a live act, it is never the same and it is itself and alive always and only in the present. “Costruisco il Mio Presente” gives the opportunity to attend a year of drama school.
Domenica Mamone concluded by thanking everyone present and reiterating the importance of “knowledge that sets you free”.
She also invited the kids to take advantage of all the opportunities that life will present them without ever stopping believing in their dreams. It is true that believing in dreams opens doors and offers opportunities, sometimes even unexpected ones.
And, unexpectedly, the Tropea Musica association, of Maestro Antonio Laureana, on the evening of July 24th, dedicated the classical music concert, scheduled at the Santa Chiara Auditorium, in the historic center of Tropea, to the memory of Antonio Mamone.
The Tropis Hotel, as usual, will host the final cerimony. The event will be host by journalists Pandullo and Repice, enlivened by the voice of Gemma Fazzari, accompanied on the piano by Maestro Francesco Pata and cheered up by some other surprises. All this in a frame of audio-video-lighting background curated by Cromatica di Vincenzo Matarozzo.
