The third edition of the Scholarship in memory of Antonio Mamone “COSTRUISCO IL MIO FUTURO” has been presented at the Tropis Hotel in Tropea, whose delivery ceremony will be held on Tuesday 6 July.
Are you ready to face the tourism challenge? This is the question that the entrepreneur Antonio Mamone has always asked himself, who died prematurely three years ago. He has always shown a strong bond with his own territory and incessantly cared about the future of young people, so much so that he designed a scholarship himself, because he believed that “the best investment in the future is in oneself”, as his sister Domenica Mamone said, while not holding back the emotion in telling her brother’s dreams and ideals, during the press conference coordinated by the editor-in-chief of TGR Calabria Pasqualino Pandullo and the journalist Nadia Macrì, who will be joined by the Rai Parliament journalist Karen Sarlo for the conduct of the handover ceremony on 6 July.
Pasqualino Pandullo has opened the conference with a heartfelt memory of his friend Antonio “ready to put his ideas not only at the service of his business, but at the disposal of the community. He was a problem solver, an indicator of perspectives ». “Sharing and generosity are the basis of the success of a community – said Mayor Giovanni Macrì during the conference, a close friend of the entrepreneur Mamone and added – Antonio was at the center of a vast team of friends and people who had clear ideas for the development of our city in various sectors but with a shared growth and his determination was fundamental, also for my victory which he did not see, but which he has always sought and hoped for ».
New this year is the collaboration with Randstad, a leading company in human resources services, to which the Mamone family has relied on for the realization of the practical test, a simulated job interview, with the aim of helping those facing the working world to have their personal goals clearly in mind and to take into account their attitudes, and which in the general classification had a weight of 35%. Nicola Mastroianni, Unit Manager Randstad Italy: «We immediately embraced the project, because we recognized the ethical, cultural, social but also professional value in a challenging historical moment».
“The Mamone Scholarship – said the DS of the IIS of Tropea Nicolantonio Cutuli – was attended by 52 young people out of 135 graduates, and the importance of the practical test, which helped to further strengthen the skills of the young people, so much so that their curriculum, has in some cases overturned what in previous years was a foregone conclusion, based on an arithmetic average of the votes of the last 3 years “.
A practical test that has also obtained the consent of young fellows who are convinced that – as the scholarship slogan says – with culture, commitment and training we face and win the challenges of the future!
Also this year there are six scholarship winners and their names were revealed during the conference, greeted by applause from all those present, and they are:

The handover ceremony will take place in the Piazzetta of the Tropis Hotel and will be broadcast in live streaming on some social pages with the dedicated hashtag #costruiscoilmiofuturo, will also be enlivened by the piano and sax of Francesco Soldano and Pantaleone Clericò, and is supported by the free patronage of Municipality of Tropea, the Municipality of Drapia, the Municipality of Ricadi, the Municipality of Parghelia and the Municipality of Zambrone.
