Domestic violence, suicide, trauma, dreams, addictions, between Naples and Paris are the ingredients of the novel “Ho Chiuso Con Te” (I’m done with you), by Emanuela Esposito Amato, which returns to readers after a series of studded successes.
Naples, February 19th 2024 – In Caivano, a municipality in the Neapolitan hinterland sadly known for its degradation, Lola and Nina, two twins as similar in somatic features as they are different in character, witness the violent death of their parents which will mark their lives forever . As adults their paths diverge. Lola flies to Paris to break into the fashion world, while Nina lives in Naples giving painting lessons.
Everything seems to be going well, but tragic news forces Lola to return to the city. Here she will meet Alessandro, a rampant lawyer with a tormented past. Suspended in a delicate balance between past and future, between forgotten truths and unexpected feelings, their paths intertwine in a labyrinth of emotions and discoveries, ultimately showing that no one is what they seem.
The plot
Lola and Nina grew up in a suburban neighborhood of Naples, their life is punctuated by family traumas, and only their relationship seems to keep them firmly grounded. Their motto is: one thing only, proving the special bond that binds them to each other. However, it will be Lola’s dreams that break that unbreakable pact. The young woman intends to follow the fashion dreams that have always distinguished her, the same ones that will take her to Paris.
From that separation a deep rift seems to stand out in that fraternal relationship, a relationship that had always kept them alive. Each different from the other, they embody in different ways different sides of an alternative coin: art, fashion, excess, calmness. Elements that photograph two polar opposite personalities, incapable of mixing together, always remaining a separate part.
It will be a traumatic event that will change Lola’s life forever, forced in some way to wear new clothes, and stage a play that sees her as the protagonist of a farce, and then aware of a special love.
A series of elements, therefore, those of the novel, capable of winking at the thriller and also leaving the door ajar to the romantic genre. There will be many high-impact topics addressed by the author: domestic violence, suicide, trauma, dreams, addictions.

Non sei il tipo che fa un passo del genere senza rifletterci, prendere contatti, informarti in che modo inserirti nel mondo a cui tanto ambisci. Lola, la stilista di grido che esce per ringraziare il pubblico osannante con le sue pecorelle sculettanti. Giornalisti e fotografi pronti a immortalare la stella nascente dell’alta moda parigina. Anzi no! Come l’hai chiamata? Haute Couture. Già, suona molto meglio. Ti vedi così, giusto? Te lo leggo in quel brillio ardito, provocatorio, dei tuoi occhi conficcati nei miei. About Emanuela Esposito Amato
Emanuela Esposito Amato was born and lives in Naples. During and after your university studies you lived and worked in Paris. She graduated in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures and is a French teacher. Her short stories have been published in the magazines “Inchiostro” and “Il Segnalibro” (2002). She won the first prize of the literary competition “Da donna io racconto“( As a woman I tell), 2004 edition with the story “Lui Dorme” (He sleeps). In 2018 you published with Alcheringa editions “Il Diario Segreto di Madame B.“(The secret diary of Madame B.) which was followed in 2020 by the collection “Lui Dorme ed altre storie” published by Homo Scrivens. In 2022 you saw the light of “Uno squillo per Josèphine” (A Ring for Josèphine), a sequel to “Il Diario Segreto di Madame B.”, a novel which was enormously successful, winning numerous prestigious literary awards.
